SUMMER CAMPS

 

JUNE 7-AUGUST 14

Why sit at home and play video games all day when you can run a professional theatre!

 Spend the week at The Rose Theatre Company and learn how to stage manage, build props and sets, make costumes and use stage make-up, and best of all

PUT ON YOUR VERY OWN SHOW!!

We will focus on film & stage acting, improv and audition skills!

All classe are taught by actors and tech currently in the business and we give each child their time to shine. We recognize each actors talent and build confidence and leadership skills through acting excerises and performing on stage!

 

JULY SCHEDULE

 

19th-23rd DVC JR SKETCH COMEDY CAMP ( 7-13)

We are looking for comidians out there who not only want to act but have an urge to write. DVC JR. is San Antonio's only sketch comedy show for kids, by kids and we want your child to be a part of it. In this camp, we will teach your child how to write hilarious sketches as well as create funny characters and show them that acting is above all funny!!! We will show them how SNL runs      (on a kids level of course) We will also performa  show for friends and family on Friday featuring scenes written by your kiddo's!

26th-30th MUSICAL THEATRE CAMP (ages 9-15)

Does your child sing constantly? Do they enjoy and sing along with the show 'Glee'? If you answer "yes " to this question then sign them up for our musical theatre camp. For one week all we do is sing and dance!!! We learn various numbers and with the help of everyone in camp we design our very own Musical Review to perform on Friday. This is a great opportunity for those of you who just sing in the shower, or great practice for those of you a little more brave. We will provide you with a cd of all of our songs to practice with at home and we guarantee a spectacular time!!

 

AUGUST SCHEDULE

 

2nd-6th BROADWAY BOUND (ages 7-3)

Not only will we learn the basics of theatre, we will also sing and dance! It is important to be a triple threat so that is what we will focus on! Simple dance steps, singing and acting all in one. Together we will create a show that will always be remembered. The staff at The Rose will turn your child in to the next little star! We strive to instill self confidence and let each child have their chance to shine. Whether we are over coming nerves or want a bigger stage to perform on other than the one in your room .This camp is the place for you!!!!

9th-14th TEEN SCENE ONE-ACT ( ages13-17)

This camp is just for teens! Leave the little ones at home. If you are currently involved in theatre at school and don't wan to lose your edge or if you are wanting to jump in for the first time this camp will help you. We will go in depth and perform a One- Act play, experimantal piece, and selected student scenes we choose over the week. You need to have a one minute monologue perpared and ready to perform on Monday. We will have a performance on friday!

 

        

 

GENERAL CAMP INFO

Time: 9-4 (early drop- off and late pick available extra charge may apply)

Cost: $275.00

Actors need to bring a sack lunch Monday-Thursday. We will provide snacks everyday and a pizza party on Friday!
