Studio One at The Rose Theatre Company is a safe, accepting, fun enviroment for students of all ages to use their imaginations. Our experienced and patient director, Mrs. Jessie Rose, has over 8 years experience teaching kids, teens and adults the skills of acting that she learned while a student at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York CIty! She is always dedicated to building a student's self confidence and giving them an outlet to express themselves freely.

We focus on the positive traits and talents of each student. While working on basic acting skills we also cover everything from self awareness, memorization, how to handle stage fright and how to give a report in front of an audience (or class). We want students to feel at home in front of a crowd.

Students accomplish this while enjoying themselves and making lots of friends in the process. Kreative Kids and Teens classes are the perfect place to watch your young ones grow!

MUSICAL MONDAYS

Does your child sing constantly? Do they enjoy and sing along with the show 'Glee'? If you answer "yes” to this question then sign them up for our musical Mondays. All we do is sing and dance!!! We learn various numbers and with the help of everyone in class we design our very own Musical Review to perform. This is a great opportunity for those of you who just sing in the shower or great practice for those of you a little braver. We will provide you with a CD of all of our songs to practice with at home and we guarantee a spectacular time!!

Kreative Kids (7-10 yrs old)

Student actors learn the basics of theatre; focusing on stage direction, expressing their emotions and building confidence and self esteem through fun theatre activities. Every class is a fun and educational experience for each student.

Jan 9th- May 8th Wednesday 4:30-6:30pm

Kreative Kids(10-13 yr olds)

In class we review the basics of theatre and continue to add on additional layers of acting ability. We work on improvisation, auditioning skills, diction, projection and much more. We work on selected scene work and monologues.

Jan 12th- May 11th Saturday 3pm-5pm

Jessie Rose is a graduate of The American Music and Dramatic
Academy in New York City. While there, she studied under Dr.
Roxanne Stuart & received her certification in stage combat. After
graduation Jessie returned home to New Braunfels, Tx. She got her
start as an acting coach teaching a duet class for 5th graders. Her
class made it all the way to regionals in U.I.L. Competition. Now Jessie has over 100 hundred students (children & adults) in classes & private lessons.

Jessie is extremely proud of the success of the Kreative Kids and Kreative Teens, her students at Teh Rose. Aside from teaching Jessie has many talents. Jessie
directed the critically acclaimed 'Children's Letters to God'. "Jessie
Rose directs the show well, getting entertaining performances from
her gifted cast." says the Express News. She's also a talented actress & singer. One of her favorite roles was Sister Robert Anne in 'Nunsense Country Jamboree'. "Jessie Rose is a hoot as the street-savvy, Brooklyn-born Sister Robert Anne", says the Express News. Jessie had fun as Millie in 'Hang Em High in the Selma Sky',
"Jessie Rose flounces prettily and mugs with cartoonish glee as
scheming vixen Millie.". And her favorite role as Lana Mae in 'Honky
Tonk Laundry', "The main reason to see the show is Rose, who
sounds a little like Natalie Maines.".Jessie thanks her beautiful son Sawyer who is the love of her life and her wacky husband and partner in crime Chris Manley.

Advanced Teen One-Act (13-17yrs old)

Pre-requisite: In order to take this class you have to have taken at least one year of our Basic Teen Class and also audition. If you have taken classes somewhere else an audition with a one minute monologue is required before enrollment.

We focus on scene work and character study. We also cover sensory recall and substitution and go in-depth on emotions and what type of actor you are. We use Uta Hagen's perspective on acting. This class also gets the wonderful opportunity to be featured once-a-year in a full run show in The Rose Theatre Co.’s night time theatre season.
